GAME VIEWING Isangano National Park covers 840 km of flats and flood plain terrain. The area is well watered, with the Chambeshi River forming the eastern boundary and the Lubanseshi River flowing through it. The western area of Isangano is also a flood plain and forms part of the Bagweulu Flats. Vegetation consists of grassland and mixed woodland, with reed beds lining the rivers. Game species include black lechwe, buffalo, bushbuck, eland, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, reedbuck, roan and elephant. Number of game within the park are generally low as a result of poaching. Location: Eastern Zambia; north-east of Lusaka. Access: From Lusaka follow the main road north-eastwards for 640 km to Mpika, then take the road towards Kasama and Mbala; after approximately 86 km turn left onto a secondary road and drive another 42 km to Mbati Village on the park's boundary.
